This sword is typical of those issued to troops on both sides of
the conflict. Many government issue Union swords were carried in
the hands of the South during the early years of the war.
Southern sword smiths copied the Union designs, but with subtle
changes. Many civil war swords are undeniably of the same design
and were used by the Confederate as well as Union armies.
This cavalry troopers sword is 42 inches overall and features a
carbon steel blade, real wood grip inset with wired brass and 4
swept bars of real brass that protect the hand. A stylish design
favored by the soldiers of both the North and South.
This sword comes with the carbon steel scabbard pictured. The
scabbard has two belt rings which makes it perfect for
reenactment.
