Hugues de Payens was
a French Knight the Champage region and was co-founder and first Grand Master of the Knights Templar.
At the request of Pope Urban II, he organized the original nine monk-knights to defend pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land.
The blade of Payen's sword is 30 inches long and the sword is 44
inches overall. It also has
a silver finish
with a fleur de lis embossed on the handguard.
This medieval sword comes complete with a
scabbard made of black simulated leather with read leather
wrapping and a bronze finish.
