General "JO" Shelby is the Confederate officer
famed for never surrendering a single battle.
General Shelby led his Missouri volunteers on the longest
cavalry raid of the War Between the States. Shelby's "Iron
Brigade" traveled fifteen hundred miles capturing and destroying
Union troops and property. When the Confederacy fell, this
undefeated general refused to surrender and took his command to
Mexico.
This sword is an exact replica of the weapon carried by General
Shelby throughout the Civil War. It measures 40 inches overall
and features a blued carbon steel blade, genuine leather
handle inset with wired brass that provides an excellent,
comfortable grip.
This hilt is made of real brass and the work is very ornate. You
can see the CS insignia in the picture to the left. This sword
comes with the blued carbon steel scabbard also pictured. The
scabbard has two belt rings which makes it perfect for
reenactment.
The blade bears engraved CSA markings for
authenticity.
