Medieval Roman Legionnaire Trooper Helmet

This is a faithful reproduction of the classic Roman Legionnaire design.


It is made of hand-forged 16 gauge, low carbon, A-36 mild steel. It is important to note that the lower the gauge, the thicker the steel. For example: 16 gauge is thicker than 18 gauge.


This metallurgical composition provides excellent resilience, durability and will polish to high sheen.

The accents are all real C-854 brass, not electro-plated. They also polish to a mirror finish.

This medieval helmet conforms to the Society for Creative Anachronism's regulations for thickness.

This item is shipped to you pre-oiled for protection.

 Specifications:

  • This medieval helmet weighs over 4 pounds.

  • It is approximately 8 inches ear to ear.

  • The circumference is approximately 28 inches.

  • The brow guard fully adjustable.

  • The neck guard is adorned with two embossed brass rivets.

  • The cheek guards are on hinges to give you a comfortable fit.

Due to the handmade nature of this item, no two examples are alike. It's truly a unique, collectible piece.
