Lorica Segmentata Roman Armor
The
segmental cuirass may have found its way into the Roman army from the
gladiatorial arena. The first time the Romans came into contact with
this armor may have been during the Revolt of Florus and Sacrovir in
(A.D.21). Heavily armoured gladiators, called Crupellarii, fought
against legionnaires.
This is a strapping reproduction of
the classic Roman Lorica Segmentata armor design.
This Roman Lorica is made out of hand-forged 18 gauge, low
carbon, A-36 mild steel. This metallurgical composition
provides excellent resilience, durability and will polish to a
high sheen.
The accents are real C-854 brass, not electo-plated. They
will also polish to a mirror finish.
The straps are made of sturdy Pure Buffalo Horn Leather.
This leather is stronger than traditional leather and
"pleather".
The buckles are 18 gauge steel and adjustable for a comfortable
fit. The entire strap is riveted to the plate metal of the
Body and Shoulder plates. This is a solid piece of Roman armor
that won't come apart during combat.
This item is shipped to you pre-oiled for protection.
