This boxed captain's compass is a beautiful reproduction of an antique brass pirate compass in a gorgeous brass inlaid hardwood box.

The 4 inch compass is fully gimbaled with a solid brass gimbal set. The compass card is 2 3/4 inches in diameter, and the case measures 6 inches square and 4 3/8 inches tall.

A captain's compass was among his most prized possessions and would remain with him throughout his career. Compasses were often kept in a wooden box with brass hinges and trimmings on a gimbaled mount, just like this realistic pirate reproduction.
