Rodrigo
Díaz de Vivar, nicknamed El Cid, was a famous general in the
wars against
the
Moors
in the early
Reconquista.
After
being exiled by King Alfonso IV, he worked as a mercenary
general for other rulers. He later captured the
Mediterranean costal city of Valencia and ruled it until his
death in 1099.
This El Cid Shield has a white crackle finish with a solid brass
trim all the way around.
It comes with a chain already attached for immediate display.
This is a truly historical replica that you can proudly display
in your office or den. It's 25 inches tall and 18 inches across,
it works great for the Renaissance Faire as well.
You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase one of these medieval
shields.
