Blank Guns Safety Instructions and
Precautions
TREAT BLANK-FIRING PROP PISTOLS /
RIFLES WITH EXTREME CAUTION.
THEY ARE NOT TOYS!
Blank-Firing Pistols and Stage Prop Pistols have been
specifically designed to fire one of the following: Brass .22
Short, 8mm, or .380 short/9mm blanks. The correct type is
stamped on the pistol. USE THAT TYPE AND THAT TYPE ONLY!
DO NOT attempt to use this blank-firing stage prop with a
real cartridge or with any blank cartridge other than the one
for which it is designed. The pistol / rifle is constructed of
an alloy that is not strong enough for a real firearm, and such
misuse may cause the pistol to explode, with resulting injury to
the user or bystanders. Such misuse, or alteration for such
purpose, may also subject the user to criminal prosecution.
Also, any modification of this pistol, or disassembly by
unqualified persons may render it unsafe for its proper use.
When blank-firing prop pistols are fired, gunpowder gas is
vented forward and sideways through the front of the cylinder,
NOT from the muzzle. This gas is hot, and may contain small
particles of powder debris. At arm's length it dissipates
harmlessly into the air, but if your hands, face or other parts
of your body are in close proximity to the vent-hole it can
cause burns, cuts or abrasions.
TO AVOID RISK OF INJURY always fire this pistol with your
arm fully extended and at a safe distance from any other person.
Keep your face and hands well away from the vent hole in the top
of the barrel when loading, handling or firing this pistol.
Always wear glasses to protect your eyes AND hearing protection!
Except in theatrical, training or other carefully controlled
environments, NEVER point any blank-firing stage prop pistol at
any person, even as a joke. The carrying, handling or
brandishing in public of any object that resembles a real weapon
may be in violation of the law, and can cause alarm or be seen
as a threat to law enforcement officers or others - with serious
or even deadly consequences for the bearer.
Blank-firing stage prop pistols are NOT toys. Its use should
ALWAYS be under the supervision of a responsible adult. They
should NEVER be carried on the street, hidden on your person, or
left carelessly in your car. Do not leave them where they will
be accessible to unsupervised children or irresponsible adults.
